Quanta case study: next-generation technology planning
In an environment where last-minute changes are constant, the need for continuously optimized planning can make all the difference. Thus, was born the collaboration with Quanta: starting with an in-depth process analysis, led to maximized productivity through the integration of Cargoful software.
The consolidation of network data between Quanta and customer and partner Cirfood provided the identification of critical features such as geospatial coordinates and delivery windows. By testing the actual constraints, it was possible to integrate the data into Cargoful software enabling optimization of planning and monitoring processes.
The collaboration digitized and made processes more efficient; a step toward a digital and collaborative supply chain that leverages new technologies to continuously improve customer service and make transportation in food service more sustainable
The context
In an environment where last-minute changes are constant, the need for continuously optimized planning can make all the difference. Thus was born the collaboration with Quanta: starting with an in-depth process analysis, it led to a maximization of productivity through the integration of Cargoful software.
Sometimes, the success of a delivery is determined well before the vehicle leaves the warehouse. Indeed, scheduling is a complex activity that requires a great deal of experience, time and meticulous organization. Even the most careful planning, however, must take into account the unpredictability of the real world, especially in industries where last-minute changes are common.
Dynamic conditions, the need for continually optimized planning, and maximum support for staff and clients were the driving forces behind the collaboration with Quanta.
Starting with an in-depth data analysis to understand the potential for process improvement, it led to an integration of Cargoful technology into the planning systems.
The result? A powerful tool tailored to Quanta's needs, designed to perform ad hoc planning and maximize operational efficiency; a project that represents another step in the continued pursuit of excellent customer service.

Quanta Stock and Go
Since 1995, Quanta Stock and Go has been a company specializing in outsourced food procurement management, offering integrated logistics services covering storage and delivery. The operational headquarters includes three different areas with a total area of over 7,000 square meters: one for dry products at room temperature, one for fresh products at +2°C, and one for frozen products at -20°C. The use of advanced radio-frequency technology ensures proper handling of goods without interruptions in the cold chain.
Coordinating a team of about 90 employees, Quanta has as its main client Cirfood s.c., a major player in the catering industry in Italy, a successful partnership that continues to endure after 25 years.
The project and key results
The consolidation of network data between Quanta and customer and partner Cirfood provided the identification of critical features such as geospatial coordinates and delivery windows. By testing the actual constraints, it was possible to integrate the data into Cargoful software enabling optimization of planning and monitoring processes.
The first step in the project was the consolidation of network data between Quanta and the customer and partner Cirfood. With Cargoful's intervention, critical characteristics of the destinations were then collected and defined for planning purposes. These included identifying exact geospatial coordinates, redefining delivery windows, and determining special constraints such for example, accessibility requirements, any services required, and other peculiarities of each location.
These data were subsequently incorporated into Cargoful software to conduct simulation analyses based on available historical data. The insights from this process were translated into a realistic perspective by identifying and testing real and dynamic constraints.
The output of these close iterations allowed the tool to be quickly refined based on the data collected. Now, experienced planners use the Cargoful software in their daily activities: this allows them to execute the work more simply and dynamically, reducing the number of vehicle miles traveled and having the ability to track the progress of execution in the field in real-time.
Conclusion
Collaboration has digitized and made processes more efficient; a step toward a digital and collaborative supply chain that leverages new technologies to continuously improve customer service and make transportation in mass catering more sustainable.
The initial need was to make processes further efficient and digitized, a goal pursued through close collaboration among all companies involved and a constant effort to seek the optimal outcome, in a pragmatic and data-driven manner.
Dynamic planning now enables Quanta to simplify and speed up processes. This is an important step toward the realization of a digital and collaborative supply chain, which takes advantage of new technologies to offer ever-better customer service and make food service transportation increasingly sustainable.
